Nostalgic Cinema: White Christmas (U)

Nostalgic Cinema: White Christmas

Music composed by: Irving Berlin

Screenplay: Norman Panama, Melvin Frank, Norman Krasna

Stars: Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, Vera-Ellen

1954 Romantic Comedy. Singers Bob Wallace (Bing Crosby) and Phil Davis (Danny Kaye) join sister act Betty (Rosemary Clooney) and Judy Haynes (Vera-Ellen) to perform a Christmas show in rural Vermont. There, they run into Gen. Waverly (Dean Jagger), the boys' commander in World War II, who, they learn, is having financial difficulties; his quaint country inn is failing. So what's the foursome to do but plan a yuletide miracle: a fun-filled musical extravaganza that's sure to put Waverly and his business in the black!

Dementia Friendly Cinemas have proven to be very therapeutic for people with memory problems and their families. Besides engaging the brain and stimulating emotions, being part of an audience enjoying a film helps people with dementia and their carers to feel less isolated and also challenges the stigma associated with the condition.

Whilst promoted as a dementia friendly screening, it is open to anyone who loves the old films and wants to come along for an afternoon of fond memories.

Tickets £3.50. Free tea and biscuits
