The Annika Skoogh Quartet are an exciting project led by multilingual Swedish singer Annika Skoogh. Annika has made a name for herself on the jazz scene as a vibrant and soulful singer with a natural talent. She brings a special blend of Scandinavian charm and Latin flavour to her performances in her own playful style.
Her band's music includes fresh interpretations of timeless jazz standards, material by other composers, and original compositions boldly arranged in their own unique way. Annika's quartet of highly accomplished musicians are -
Matt Carter (keys) - performed here recently to great acclaim with Neil Maya Quartet's Brubeck Project
Al Swainger (bass) - plays with Pointless Beauty, Snow Giants, Gary Bamford Trio and The Blue Vanguard Jazz Club house band
Coach York (drums) - Honiton based drummer who performs with numerous ensembles including The Blue Vanguard Jazz Club house band and The Mike Westbrook Big Band
Together they provide the perfect anchor for Annika's assured and soulful vocals with a passionate and exciting sound.
The band have been busy recording their first debut album which will be available to purchase at this performance. This promises to be a great evening so don't miss this opportunity to catch the Quartet live.
