“Ensemble is watertight and there is a real rhythmic élan to the playing which keeps you listening.”
— BBC Music Magazine
The Girls with their Harps came to The Beehive two years ago and we are particularly pleased that they are playing the first concert of the new East Devon Music Festival. More poignantly, this is a memorial concert to Jean Price, harpist and a keen supporter over many years of the Honiton Festival, which would be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Harriet Adie has transcribed the majority of the music which is ‘Celebrating Dance’ in its various guises. With works by Handel, Ravel, Khachaturian, Piazzola, Borodin, Prokofiev, Debussy and Manuel de Falla, the programme is set to give us a foot-tapping evening and make the Beehive buzz!
