'You're going to have a Marvelous time!'
Sent on an assignment, New York City based fashion photographer Dick Avery (Fred Astaire) is struck by the beauty of Jo Stockton (Audrey Hepburn), a shy bookstore employee he's photographed by accident. He believes she has the potential to become a successful model. He gets Jo to go with him to France, where he snaps more pictures of her against iconic Parisian backdrops. In the process (of course) they fall for one another, only to find hurdles in their way.
'A timeless musical treat and the most fun you can have with really elegant clothes on.' -Empire Magazine
'The film fairly bursts with charm, the Gershwin songs are lively, Paris is as photogenic as ever and the existentialists are grubby to the life.' - The Spectator
Dementia Friendly Cinemas have proven to be very therapeutic for people with memory problems and their families. Besides engaging the brain and stimulating emotions, being part of an audience enjoying a film helps people with dementia and their carers to feel less isolated and also challenges the stigma associated with the condition.
All Nostalgic Cinema performances have subtitles to assist full enjoyment of the film by any members of the audience who are hard of hearing.
Whilst promoted as a dementia friendly screening, we hope anyone who loves the old films will come along for an afternoon of fond memories.
