This event is a fundraiser for Honiton Dementia Action Alliance and is sponsored by The Beehive so come and support this worthy cause.
Join us for a very special evening of fabulous nostalgia and hilarity. The mood and events of the 1950s and 60s are revisited with the songs of Flanders & Swann. We ask if people could wear evening dress for the occasion, however this is optional. A complimentary glass of fizz will be served on arrival.
Flanders and Swann were a British comedy duo. Actor and singer Michael Flanders and composer, pianist, and lyricist Donald Swann collaborated in writing and performing comic songs. They first worked together at a school revue in 1939 and eventually wrote over a hundred comic songs together.
Two Blokes and a Piano, acknowledged as leading exponents of Flanders & Swann, bring you such favourites as The Hippopotamus Song, The London Omnibus, The Gnu and many others. With additional songs by Stilgoe and Skellern plus Kit and the Widow.
The dementia specialist nurses recruited, trained and supported by Dementia UK are called “Admiral Nurses”, a name coined by the family who first set the charity up following the experience they went through with a close family member who was known as “Admiral Joe” due to his love of sailing. Honiton has identified a real need and is working towards raising £150K for its own Admiral Nurse. Admiral Nurses are highly skilled registered nurses who have specialised in dementia care. Their unique background and experience enables Admiral Nurses to work together with families and complimentary to local health and social care services. Please support the cause by joining us for this fabulous show.
