Côr Meibion Maesteg a’r Cylch (Maesteg and District Male Voice Choir)
The Llynfi Valley has a long tradition of Male Voice Choirs and Côr Meibion Maesteg a’r Cylch (Maesteg and District Male Choir) is proud to uphold this tradition. Since its inception in 1974, the Choir has given immense musical pleasure to thousands of people at home and abroad. Over the years the choir has had the privilege of singing at many prestigious venues and events including Proms in the Park, The Royal Albert Hall, the House of Commons and the Millennium Stadium in Wales in concerts as well as before rugby matches.
The Maesteg Male Voice Choir have sung with many famous singers including world famous baritone Bryn Terfel and Grammy Award winning soprano Rebecca Evans.
The choir takes great pride in raising a tremendous amount of money for charitable causes across the UK. Tonight's Concert is in aid of WHERE (Westcountry Health Education and Research Enterprise). This is a South West based charity aimed at helping vulnerable adults to integrate with the local community and to live a full and active social life.
After the Concert we are very hopeful that there will be a traditional 'Afterglow' in the Beehive Bar. This is an impromptu sharing when the choir, pint in hand, relax and sing in an informal setting.
