About Devon Drams
Devon Drams was founded by Johann Malawana on a simple conviction: whisky is at its best when it's shared. What draws him to it isn't collecting or scoring - it's what happens around the table when a good dram is poured and people start talking. Every Devon Drams event is built around that idea, pairing carefully chosen whiskies with the stories, history and science behind them.
Johann's standing in the whisky world is serious. He chairs the Whisky Interest Group at the Athenaeum, the Pall Mall club founded in 1824 for distinction in science, literature and the arts, and leads the Whisky Circle at the National Liberal Club on Whitehall. He is a member of the Worshipful Company of Distillers, one of the ancient Livery Companies of the City of London, granted its Royal Charter in 1638, and a Cadet of the London Squadron of the Company of Musketeers of Armagnac, the confraternity devoted to the great spirit of Gascony.
