Dementia Friendly Cinemas have proven to be very therapeutic for people with memory problems and their families. Besides engaging the brain and stimulating emotions, being part of an audience enjoying a film helps people with dementia and their carers to feel less isolated and also challenges the stigma associated with the condition.

All Nostalgic Cinema performances have subtitles to assist full enjoyment of the film by any members of the audience who are hard of hearing.

Whilst promoted as a dementia friendly screening, we hope anyone who loves the old films will come along for an afternoon of fond memories.

Tickets £5 - includes hot drink, biscuits and chat after the screening.
Ticket price includes £1 admin fee
Seats are not allocated for these showings.

Laurent Tirard’s hilarious comedy sees Mother Veronique and the five eccentric sisters of the convent of St. Benedict set out to save the local nursing home by entering the local bicycle race…

When the local nursing home finds itself in dire straits and in danger of falling to pieces, it’s down to Mother Veronique (Valérie Bonneton) and the five eccentric sisters of the convent of St. Benedict to find a way to help.

Spotting a poster for a bike race with a €25,000 cash prize (and the incentive of a trip to the Vatican for the winner!), the sisters might just have their answer. The only drawbacks are that they are terrible cyclists, and their rival convent, led by Mother Veronique’s childhood nemesis Mother Josephine (Sidse Babett Knudsen), have their own plans for the prize money – and just a little more experience… But God works in mysterious ways!

Adam Sweet Band

Adam Sweet Band
Adam Sweet Band
Running Time: 2hrs 15

Tickets: Advanced: £15. General Admission £19
All ticket prices include a £2 booking fee

Adam Sweet delivers brooding blues and rootsy rock, balancing richly detailed song writing with soulful vocals and expertly piercing guitar work. Taking his cue from the British blues boom sounds and rock riffs of the 60s and 70s, the independent blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter has carved out his own territory between classic rock, blues and Americana.

Since first taking to the live scene in the South West of England at the age of 15 he has worked in various guises: solo acoustic, session player and with his own bands. The result is a consummate ability to switch from sensitive singer-songwriter to full-on blues rocker with ease, as demonstrated in his countless live performances and his output as a recording artist.

Since being crowned Introducing Stage winners at The Great British Rock and Blues Festival in 2023 the Adam Sweet Band have been rapidly gaining a reputation as one of the tightest units on the circuit. They have built on their success with triumphant performances at venues and festivals across the UK including London’s 100 Club, the Brudenell Social Club, Sidmouth & Rye International Jazz & Blues Festivals, Upton Blues Festival and they have supported the likes of Wishbone Ash, Kris Barras Band and Elles Bailey.

In 2024 they released ‘Live at Crescent Records’ with the accompanying YouTube series clocking up over 80k views in the first few months of its release. Adam is currently writing and recording the follow up to his acclaimed 2020 album release ‘Sink or Swim’.
