Running Time: 1 Hour 41 MInutes

The spectacular sculptures and paintings of Michelangelo seem so familiar to us, but what do we really know about this Renaissance giant? Michelangelo’s genius is evident in everything he touched. Beautiful and diverse works such as the towering statue of David, the moving Pietà in the Papal Basilica of St. Peter and his tour-de-force, the Sistine Chapel ceiling, still leave us breathless today.

Spanning his 88 years, Michelangelo - Love and Death takes a cinematic journey through the print and drawing rooms of Europe through the great chapels and museums of Florence, Rome and the Vatican to seek out a deeper understanding of this legendary figure’s tempestuous life, his relationship with his contemporaries and his incredible legacy.

Through expert commentary, stunning visuals and Michelangelo’s own words, this film takes a fresh look at a master artist whose life and genius are celebrated in every mark he made. Returning to cinemas in 2025 to celebrate this iconic artist’s 550th birthday.

Sculptor, painter, architect, poet, genius - discover why Michelangelo is without a doubt one of the greatest artists of all time.

Besides engaging the brain and stimulating emotions, being part of an audience enjoying a film helps people with dementia and their carers to feel less isolated and also challenges the stigma associated with the condition.

All Nostalgic Cinema performances have subtitles to assist full enjoyment of the film by any members of the audience who are hard of hearing.

Whilst promoted as a dementia friendly screening, we hope anyone who loves the old films will come along for an afternoon of fond memories.

SykesMartin is the exciting new collaboration from two of British folk's finest voices. Miranda Sykes (Show of Hands) and Hannah Martin (Edgelarks, Gigspanner Big Band) join forces to present a set of songs that take them back to their shared roots.

Having played together on numerous occasions, including in Steve Knightley's Wake the Union band, and at the Royal Albert Hall, they knew that they shared an instinctive ear for harmony and skilled instrumental improvisation.

A sociable Devon winter evening led to an exchange of songs; which proved to be so much fun that they soon arranged another musical get together. Swiftly these became rehearsal sessions, as a strong new sound emerged.

Miranda and Hannah have spent many years playing on the British folk scene, but neither has ever dedicated an entire set to traditional song.

Centred around their deep knowledge of roots music, and a love of harmony singing, SykesMartin brings together old songs with new ideas; ancient tales with bass, fiddle, and banjo; and two mesmerising storytellers joining voices to create a spine tingling testimonial to our shared musical heritage.

“An exciting collaboration…a must for any folkie!” - The Morning Star 7

Still today, Mark Knopfler remains one of our most beloved guitarists in modern Rock.

Their biggest album, Brothers in Arms, still sits in the top 10 of the best selling albums in chart history.

“DS:UK…in tribute to Dire Straits” began touring in 2016 and have quickly become regarded as *the* quintessential tribute band among Dire Straits fans with their incredible attention to musical and sonic detail, the humour, fun, and interesting history that they pack into their shows. To say that DSUK ....In Tribute to Dire Straits sound like Dire Straits is an understatement. And don’t take it from us - take it from our audience on the streets: “

…these guys are the epitome of a tribute band: they play and sound like you want to them to…” “…

Thank you for a great evening in Worthing this week. Being a fan of Dire Straits for the last 50 years, you did not fail as a tribute band…”

Their 2025 “Brothers in 85” tour, once again, pays tribute to the worldwide Brothers in Arms tour, with the band bringing fans the ultimate 1985 Dire Straits experience and all of those legacy songs that you want to hear, including Sultans of Swing and Money for Nothing! Here comes Johnny singing oldies goldies.... it’ll truly give you a shiver in the dark!
