For gorgeous melody, spellbinding coloratura, and virtuoso vocal fireworks, I Puritani has few equals. In January, the first new Met production of Bellini's final masterpiece in nearly 50 years - a striking staging by Charles Edwards, who makes his company directorial debut after many successes as a set designer, arrives in cinemas worldwide. The Met has assembled a world-beating quartet of stars, conducted by Marco Armiliato, for the demanding principal roles. Soprano Lisette Oropesa and tenor Lawrence Brownlee are Elvira and Arturo, brought together by love and torn apart by the political rifts of the English Civil War, with baritone Artur Rucinski as Riccardo, betrothed to Elvira against her will, and bass- baritone Christian Van Horn as Elvira's sympathetic uncle, Giorgio.

Synopsis:

At one of her lavish parties, celebrated Parisan courtesan Violetta is introduced to Alfredo Germont. The two fall madly in love, and though hesitant to leave behind her life of luxury and freedom, Violetta follows her heart. But the young couple's happiness is short-lived, as the harsh realities of life soon come knocking. 

As intimate as it is sumptuous, La traviata features some of opera's most famous melodies, and is a star vehicle for its leading soprano role sung by Ermonela Jaho. In director Richard Eyre's world of seductive grandeur, the tender and devastating beauty at the centre of Verdi's opera shines bright.

Following a car accident, Suzanne loses custody of her three children. She has no choice but to seek treatment at a center for alcoholics. As soon as she arrives, she meets Alice and Diane, two women with strong personalities. Denis, a sports instructor, will try to bring them together around the same goal: to participate in the Dune Rally in the Moroccan desert. He will need a lot of patience and teaching skills to prepare this unlikely team to achieve their goal.
