Join us as we unravel the story of one of history’s most brilliant, complex and controversial figures.

Caravaggio’s masterpieces are some of art’s most instantly recognisable. No one else uses his signature blend of dramatic light, intense naturalism and bold, striking figures. His incredible paintings have captivated audiences for centuries. But there lies a deeper mystery — one that still beckons us to explore. What do these masterpieces reveal about the man behind the brush? Join us as we explore the intriguing clues that help us to finally understand the life – and death – of this remarkable man.

Tickets £10 including a £1 booking fee.
Over 18's only. Event strictly limited to 150 people.
Limited seating around the dance floor. Fully licenced bar.

Boogie Wonderland...is a Funk, Soul, and Disco dance night based in the south west, where you can dance your cares away to the classic soul, funk and disco tunes we all love - the big ones from the superstars that make you sing, dance, and smile - unforgettable tunes from across the decades from Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Edwin Starr, O'Jays, Four Tops, Diana Ross & Supremes, Temptations, Isley Brothers, Aretha Franklin, Chic, James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, Shalamar, KC & The Sunshine Band, Jacksons, Odyssey, Tavares, Donna Summer, Rose Royce, Kool & The Gang, Barry White, Sister Sledge, and many other icons of the funk and soul world.

For one night, Devon Funk & Soul Club's DJ John Bongo turns the amazing Beehive main room into a vibrant space, where we recreate the energy of a 1960s nightclub, the magic of a 1970s discotheque, and the excitement of a 1980s school disco, spinning you back to those joyful times of dancing with your best mates back in the day - this is a kaleidoscopic journey of the most beloved and uplifting funk 'n' soul dance music ever made, cleverly and uniquely weaved together to keep the vibe running at full-tilt all night, right to the very end. It's all about peace, unity, love and having fun! Let's start the dance!

This event is strictly limited to 150 tickets, so please book early to secure your place!

Beehive Projector Fundraiser: The proceeds from this event will go towards raising £30k for a new cinema projector to replace the venue's 10 year-old one. So far, they have raised just over £5k, with grant applications being made to fund some of the cost.

John Bongo is Devon Funk & Soul Club's resident presenter of recorded musical entertainment for parties (what we used to call a mobile disco DJ!). He's no new-comer to entertaining people, having shown party-goers a good time at venues big and small since the early '80's, and for all sorts of public and private occasions such as family celebrations, corporate events, festivals, and alongside live acts and other established DJ's. He loves that thing all (good) DJs love - sparking an exciting vibe with great music, and seeing people dance and have the time of their lives.

For gorgeous melody, spellbinding coloratura, and virtuoso vocal fireworks, I Puritani has few equals. In January, the first new Met production of Bellini's final masterpiece in nearly 50 years - a striking staging by Charles Edwards, who makes his company directorial debut after many successes as a set designer, arrives in cinemas worldwide. The Met has assembled a world-beating quartet of stars, conducted by Marco Armiliato, for the demanding principal roles. Soprano Lisette Oropesa and tenor Lawrence Brownlee are Elvira and Arturo, brought together by love and torn apart by the political rifts of the English Civil War, with baritone Artur Rucinski as Riccardo, betrothed to Elvira against her will, and bass- baritone Christian Van Horn as Elvira's sympathetic uncle, Giorgio.

Synopsis:

At one of her lavish parties, celebrated Parisan courtesan Violetta is introduced to Alfredo Germont. The two fall madly in love, and though hesitant to leave behind her life of luxury and freedom, Violetta follows her heart. But the young couple's happiness is short-lived, as the harsh realities of life soon come knocking.

As intimate as it is sumptuous, La traviata features some of opera's most famous melodies, and is a star vehicle for its leading soprano role sung by Ermonela Jaho. In director Richard Eyre's world of seductive grandeur, the tender and devastating beauty at the centre of Verdi's opera shines bright.
